Who we serve

School aged youth in Baraga, Houghton , and Keweenaw counties. Individual students are brought to our attention by the professionals who work with them.

Who Can Apply for a SKY Mini-Grant?
Teachers, educational staff and other designated human services personnel. While SKY has no financial criteria for students who would qualify for a grant, we trust our grant requestors to judge that individuals are in need.

“A family whose mother passed away felt her absence even more as the Christmas season approached. Teachers and staff worked with each other- each teacher ensuring their writing lesson for the day included having the class write a letter to Santa. Each teacher then quietly pulled out the letters from this family and secretly made them a reality for Christmas morning.”
